Miscellaneous Loose Fish
Our miscellaneous loose fish, by-catch to tuna, is supplied predominately by the Japanese Long Line -60°C Vessels based in Cape Town port, operating in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
These vessels operate in International waters under license governed by ICCAT, IOTC and in the EEZ of Angolan, Namibian and South African waters with the assistance of Blue Seas.
Through our local Japanese staff and our liaison office in Japan we work closely with Japanese vessel owners and fishing masters in order to tailor the products to our buyers’ specific needs. We market and sell these products both locally and on export markets.
Each product is frozen to a core temperature of -60°C in under 12 hours on-board the vessels to ensure the highest quality.
Seasonal Availability
Fishing takes place all year round and trips can be between 2 to 6 months at a time. Supply therefore is also year round with the main discharge season being between March and July.
